New on 500px : Morning Call by yanzhang by yanzhang

Coalcliff is a coast in Sydney south that is completely new to me. This is a place with many interesting rock formations, providing good photography opportunity when the light and tide are right. Getting up at 4am and driving almost 100 KM from my home, I arrived at Coalcliff around 6:15am. Before this day, it had been raining for a while in the area and it was low tide in the morning of 5 April 2014. So I was expecting to have a dramatic morning light once the rain stopped. But after I got there, the sky was quite dark while the horizon was already breaking to bright. Surprisingly, when the sun jumped up, the stunning light just came in a sudden and all those clouds turned to alive although only lasted several minutes. This image was taken with a single shot without using any filters. Thanks Nikon D800E for its great dynamic range, I was able to capture all details from dark and bright areas.
