It’s quite an epic morning at Lake Tekapo with burning red sky during the golden hour. We 1st started shooting the Good Shepard church (which at that time we had the church by ourselves) and run like crazy to get on this spot. It’s not everyday you’ll get a surreal scene like this but the South Island of New Zealand has this magic.

It was my 3rd time to visit this place but my 2nd time to shoot and still didn’t get a good light for both sunset/sunrise. A bad weather forecast and we’re just hopefully to see some miracle to happen. Only a handful of moments to see a glimpse of good light but the rest was mostly cloudy + showers. I still want to get back to this place and will plan better to have good timing.

A 7km drive in from the main road. Truly a magical scenery and fantastic spot to shoot. It has this sense of being out in the middle of no where in the shadows of the large mountains around you. But to get on this nice spot is by far very challenging.

Hoping for something good to happen as the day started with an overcast sky. We’re not hopeful to get any colours from this sunrise but mother nature set a different course and gave us what we were looking for.

A morning that I won’t forget after having a very different sunset the day before and the sunrise the day after was very amazing. The cloud formations are absolutely out of this world on that morning and I never experienced such event like this before.

Winter really kicks off down here in Southern Hemisphere as chill sets through me. There was only a small window of colours given to me while waiting for the sunrise, but sure enough for me to capture what’s magical about to happen on that morning.
