this time a colorful sunset sky on castlepoint…. maybe a bit too much of a perfect sky as I was looking for something more dramatic better off taken during sunrise maybe but this was all the time I had for this trip. will be posting a shot from the far end with the cliffs maybe after a couple of months.

sunset nearing the end on the tasman sea… not too much going on with the waves so I had to be very patient just to catch a few spiral on this rock… the stronger one’s though did not work as good… still not enough to make a difference so I opted to just shoot with the sand out reflecting the color of the sky.

A frosty freezing morning at Arthur’s Pass National Park, the ground forming ice with the golden light rising from the East Coast. This was an early morning drive from Greymouth through inclined zig zag roads while my mind was half asleep. Something different from the usual NZ images from the past couple of weeks. about -3 to -5… not enough… i like it below -12 minimum 😀

A vertical orientation of the starfish colony on motukiekie, there were more than 8 photographers during our first visit so I had to move to a position no one wanted to shoot, my tripod and legs spread eagled with the water rushing between my legs, a bit painful due to the distance of the spread. (Now I can say that I am very very thankful that I go to the gym). Had to be very smart in choosing my spots on this trip as I have made quite a few stops on all these locations…. wanted really get some vantages that would fit nicely into the collection.

another possibility presented itself this time with still water on the shore so I went in to shoot at the last minute. worth the decision as the light did not last long at the plains due to some middle cloud.

this image was taken a couple of inches from the water and up close on some small pcs of rock along the shore and is a stacked multiple focus image.
