New on 500px : The Calm After The Storm by DaniloFaria by DaniloFaria

After an incredible World Cup in brazil, I am back! My beloved Brasil did not win, but I am here congratulating Germany for a great run!
Horseshoe Bend a few minutes after sunset. I struggled to try different compositions here, because the center classic image has been seen so many times… lucky I was to have the golden sun come through the clouds. Thanks for your feedback and visits!

New on 500px : Ancient Sandstone Canyons by MarkMetternich by MarkMetternich

An original take on an ancient canyon that makes up part of the very origin of the 277 mile long, over a mile deep, Grand Canyon. With 4 workshops coming up in the area, I am getting very excited about the awesome privilege of guiding my clients to some original SW locations either rarely or never photographed.

Processing techniques are explained in my various Photoshop Video Tutorials. Feel free to Facebook me or visit WildForLight.com

Thank you for looking. 🙂

A rarely seen Gooseneck bend on the Colorado river bathed in intense pink light with a glowing moon in the background. This is NOT Horseshoe Bend.

Many of my processing techniques are shared on my various instructional Video Tutorials at WildForLight.com.

A short video clip of this scout/shoot entitled “Is it Worth it?” is both on my public Facebook page (feel free to friend me there) and YouTube here:

New on 500px : Winter at Deadhorse by chaddutson by chaddutson

“Winter at Deadhorse”
Deadhorse Point State Park, Utah, USA
1312-4-1828

** This image featured in the Bighorn Gallery March/April 2014**

A winter sunrise at Deadhorse Point, about 2,000 feet above the Colorado River, with the sun glowing on the distant background which is the cliffs of Canyonlands National Park.

Legend tells of horse being corralled atop the cliffs at this prominent point, high above the valley floor. As time went by some horses were left corralled without water, resulting in their deaths; thereby the site inherited the name Deadhorse Point.

New on 500px : Catching Monsoon Light by MarkMetternich by MarkMetternich

Taken on one of my “Chasing Monsoon Light in the great Southwest” workshops. One of those awesome definitive moments when my clients and I, all, caught the monsoon light very powerfully! Literally 3 minutes after the shot was taken we all ran to our cars as we got blasted with high wind, rain and even hail! Everyone vehamently agreed, it was worth it! 🙂

My processing techniques are shared on my Video Tutorials, and more about my unique adventure workshops can be found at my website WildForLight.com

As always feel free to FaceBook me. I share a lot of behind the scenes details there.

Thank you very much for looking! 🙂

New on 500px : Iconic Horseshoe Bend by iluvmtns2 by iluvmtns2

Looks even better when viewed on a black background.

My first time to view and photograph this Iconic scene at Horseshoe Bend, Being so close to the edge caused me some nervous stress, especially when heights scare me, but this was well worth the nervous stress.
