Took a trip Shingle Street again this morning. Was a grey and drizzly day, but that just added to the sense of remoteness and otherworldliness you get can get there, with the eerily still water in th elagoons lapping against the shingle banks.

Captured the shot just before Sunrise.
It was a 45m drive from my hotel. I had started early around 2pm to take some night shots, but to my disappointment it was cloudy when I reached there… So waited in the car for an hour and a half, hoping to see a bit of sunrise. The hike was a simple 10 min walk. I’m glad that I stayed, to capture this shot.

Its surely one of the best spots to shoot the Arches with sun coming up through the canyons. Lucky me. 🙂

This is Camel Rock, Although doesn’t look like a Camel from this angle, It does from further south along the beach.

I will forever return to my favorite park in the NPS system, something about these mountains that rise above sage brush plains that keep calling me back. This year my focus was timing the arrowleaf balsamroot bloom in the flats of the valley. I timed it ok… 😉 This year’s bloom didn’t disappoint, even if I didn’t get the spectacular pink sunrise I’d envisioned in my mind.
