New on 500px : Rotterdam : old & new by schelpje67 by schelpje67

Rotterdam is a city of many faces: a tough port city, a trendy nightlife city, a sophisticated shopping city, and a hip artistic city. Above all, Rotterdam is the architecture city of Holland that stimulates innovation. Its skyline is always changing. There are many things to do amid Rotterdam’s skyscrapers.

Thank you all for your comments and supports ^-^

Awesome Ferry and Sunrise !

It was my best time at Stueong Trong district where I and my team work stayed for a week for working with one of a local high school there which I saw a great morning with stunning sunrise where was along the Mekong river.

I am Mardy SUONG, I am from the one of Cambodian Photographers. I wish to extend my heartfelt welcome to all international visitors and photographers to Cambodia-Kingdom of Wonder.

As one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in Southeast Asia, Cambodia’s rich heritage, cultural and natural resources offer a full range of cultural and eco-tourism sites that are both dynamic and sustainable. Highlights include Phnom Penh, the Angkor Wat and the Mekong River Dolphins, just to name a few.

The Kingdom’s capital is a dynamic city where visitors are in the mood for shopping, dining, sightseeing and more. As Cambodia’s hub for commerce, politics and tourism, Phnom Penh is also home to many important institutions and monuments such as Wat Phnom, the Royal Palace and the National Museum. The magnificent Angkor Wat and Preah Vihear, Heritage of Humanity and World Wonder, is probably the most exotic tourist destination in the world and the renowned yet very rare Mekong River dolphins can also be found in Cambodia. During your staying here, do visit and relax on Cambodia’s pristine beaches, explore the coral reefs around many of our beautiful islands and trek through lush mangrove forests. The bay of Cambodia has been inducted to the Most Beautiful Bay of the World Club.

Regards and thanks!

New on 500px : Black Hole Device, Shanghai by AnakinYang by AnakinYang

The Bund is probably the most visited tourism place in Shanghai, and in my opinion, especially great at night for photography. The city lights, the people, and the Huang Pu River just make up a fantastic night landscape. During my stay in Shanghai earlier in 2013, I went to photograph the Bund so many times at night but never got tired of it. I took this particular one from a not very popular photo spot, which gave the unique look to it, but the city lights still look amazing. This is the kind of scene you can only see in Asian cities, but not anywhere here in the States because we don’t have that high of population density I guess. There is this building by the shore of the old pier in Shanghai, it’s made to look like a singularity (black hole). I guess the Chinese government is so loaded they’ll spend money building anything.

The city lights, the people, and the Huang Pu River just make up a fantastic night landscape. During my stay in Shanghai earlier in 2013, I went to photograph the Bund so many times at night but never got tired of it. I took this particular one from a pedestrian overpass on the main highway next to the bund, which gave the unique look to it, but the city lights still look amazing with the new town area on the right side of the image across the river. This is the kind of scene you can only see in Asian cities, but not anywhere here in the States because we don’t have that high of population density I guess. pwned

New on 500px : The Arrival by AnakinYang by AnakinYang

During my trip to China, I went to these remote islets about 40 miles off the coast of mainland China, called “The East Pole Islets”. These little islands have no sign of industrialization like the rest of China, and they’ve been perfectly perserved, much like the National Parks in our country. This shot was taken at on the 1 hour long ferry from the surrounding island, just as the boat was approaching the most remote island of the islets. And it was a very rocky, and long ferry ride. All in all, best place I’ve ever been to thus far, even better than most of the American landscapes !

These little islands have no sign of industrialization like the rest of China, and they’ve been perfectly perserved, much like the National Parks in our country. This shot was taken at on the 1 hour long ferry from the surrounding island, just as the boat pulled up to the dock. Interesting building structures by the water. The harbor nearly had no boat docking there. All in all, best place I’ve ever been to thus far, even better than most of the American landscapes !

New on 500px : Missed the Ferry by RolfNachbar by RolfNachbar

well, I had a similar one before in color. Yesterday evening I was reviewing this series and found this one. Now I have a new approach in monochrome… The story behind the image: the lake Chiemsee is the biggest one in Bavaria located in front of the Alps. This pier is the departure point tho its two famous islands “Frauenchiemsee” and “Herrenchiemsee”. The smaller one, Frauenchiemsee, is visible in the background. Long time ago, on both islands were monasteries, one for women on Frauencheimsee and, you might imagine, one for men on the other island. Later in history King Ludwig II of Bavaria built there one of his famous castles. On this day a heavy thunderstorm appeared from the Alps and challenged me and my equipment on the way home… As always, I hope you’ll like the picture…
