Reprocessed an old favorite this week. It’s amazing what a few years can do to one’s processing and vision. I wonder what I’ll want to change in a few more years. **please view on black**

This might look more like a forest fire, but what you’re looking at is a blazing winter sunset over El Capitan as a fog trail drifts through Yosemite Valley. A scene like this happens for a few minutes perhaps once every couple years, and I will never thank myself enough for ditching all the classes and meetings I had that week to watch this amazing storm blow through. I refuse to title any of my shots ‘fire and ice’ but I welcome any other suggestions 😉 Hope you enjoy it!

The 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallajökull
This one is taken early in the mornig April 17th 2010, i arrived there the day before and decided to stay over night in my car to get the beautiful volcanic sunrise, i had been awake for more than 24 hours when this was taken but it was well worth the wait, this is probably the most powerful experience of my life and being close to such a force is an unexplained feeling and i can´t wait to experience it again and hopefully it will be a short wait as mountain Hekla could blow off any time with a short notice. There is now more molten rock below Hekla than there was before it last erupted, in 2000 so it could by a powerful one
