Laguna de Los Tres, Glacier National Park, El Chalten, Patagonia , Argentina, with the best available view of Monte Fitzroy ( 3402 meters).
At the edge of the lagoon some people who look like ants
Round trip = 17 Km
Time = 10 hours
ascent = 700 meters
Last 1.6 Km, a short but steep trail : ascent approximately 439 meters.
Last step : ice and snow in the ground.
This was my second hike in the Glacier National Park in El Chalten, Patagonia, Argentina, one day before I had done the hike to Laguna Torre, round trip 24Km.

Here is another shot I took near El Chalteni n Patagonia, Argentina.
It shows the famous Fitz Roy mountain very early in the morning at sunrise. The sun illuminates the peaks of the mountains dark red but after a few minutes the whole mountain rage becomes reddish. It’s a very beautiful event.
Just so you all know the canyon with the river below is about 700 feet (350m) deep.

“Emerging Spectrum” shows Argentina’s most iconic mountain, the Fitz Roy that can be seen in Parque Nacional de los Glaciares. It was taken during the sunrise in the late fall conditions. I was returning to this location multiple times during my stay in the park to be able to capture entire spectrum of colours. I was waiting for the first light to strike the Fitz Roy’s peak and aimed to combine on my photo morning sky and cascading river with richness of beautiful fall colours of the surrounding flora. I hoped that all these elements would create the real picture of Patagonia’s natural beauty at this time of the year. I was having a lot of fun taking this photo while balancing on the edge of the rock in the middle of the river’s stream.
I can’t find words to describe what feelings one has while seeing this Patagonia’s morning beauty. It was simply breathtaking. I hope this photo successfully shows the cheerfulness I was experiencing while capturing this scene. Please view on black and enjoy.

To reach here, I had to hike around 10 km from El Chalten to Poincenot campsite. I was staying there in small tent for 3 nights waiting for good weather condition. From the campsite to this lookout, I spent 2 hours walking up and 2 hours walking down the steep part with many camera equipment. This was my third round to reach this lookout because the previous hiking I faced the rain strom, wind and snow near the top.

Beauty of Patagonia has no limits. I was “hunting” for some lenticular clouds (I’ve never seen them before live) and the place didn’t disappoint me. Here is the Fitz Roy mountain in El Chaltén, Patagonia, Argentina. The clouds moved over the mountains producing an unreal scene. Colors, timing, and high winds that move these clouds so quickly, as well as stretched them, were all in place. The scene was simply stunning. But, I don’t care about the mountains on this shot as much as clouds so I decided to use the Topaz Clouds Sharpening plugin for PS and make them pop quite a bit, as you can see, and mask out everything else. It is them that make this shot Crazy. Enjoy it against the black background. The image is also big, so click on the arrows icon to stretch it over the entire screen.
