New on 500px : Light Steal by everlookphotography by everlookphotography

Landmannalaugar, Iceland

Sitting behind the lee of of our baby 4×4, Marianne and I escaped the full force of the wind on this day in the highlands of Iceland. Previously at Ljotipollur, we had been bowled over while sitting down with our tripods!. The shifting light danced across the hills so rapidly here it was amazing to watch.

New on 500px : Fire! by titopaez by titopaez

This colorful sunset caught us while working on the hillsides of the Tromen Volcano (Argentinean Patagonia), and is definitely one of the more saturated sunsets I’ve ever witnessed!. This incredible Patagonian volcano is found close to the Buta Ranquil Town (Neuquén Province), and has a extensive lava field developed during two distinct volcanic eruptions occurred during historical times, the oldest one happening between 1400 AD and 1752 AD, and the youngest one occurring during the 1820s.

New on 500px : Unexpected Light on Rainier by TrevorAnderson by TrevorAnderson

This image offers a respite from my Iceland posts. This was taken last summer near a remote tarn near Rainier during a sudden burst of reddish light.

New on 500px : Bay of Fire by everlookphotography by everlookphotography

Binalong Bay
Tasmania

This spot in the town of Binalong Bay is at the southern most end of the aptly named Bay of fires in the northeast of Tasmania. If is close to a very often photographed tree in this area and lies on a peninsula with sunset and sunrise options . The rock patterns make for all sorts of compositional possibilities too.

New on 500px : Temple of the Moon by nightscape by nightscape

Milky Way over “Temple of the Moon” in Cathedral Valley, Capitol Reef National Park. Cathedral Valley is a remote area in the park that is accessible only by 4-wheel drive. I hope they never change this —I only saw two other vehicles my whole trip this last weekend! This is a single exposure “NightScape” during which the monument was light painted and the surrounding area received a “fill” light exposure from Mother Nature (read here, or go two images back in my profile)! MORE: is it natural or is it just “Photoshop”? Some have wondered how much of the beauty of my “NightScapes” is natural and how much is Photoshop. To answer that question, click here, or go back one image in my profile >>
