New on 500px : Glow Valley by PatrickMarsonOng by PatrickMarsonOng

A track that supposed to be a 1.5 hours(one way) hike, our group of 11 photographers made it under 55minutes. Brisk walking, Amazing!  Must be because of the clear weather, plus snow capped mountains, plus eagerness to shoot, plus thrill & adventure, equals to 100% Jacked up adrenaline. LOL

I will never grow tired of visiting this place. 4.5 kms of one way hike is nothing once you reach the glacier valley lake. This is my fourth time and it was a sunset. A totally different scene from the usual sunrise that I have taken. Alpen glow of Mt. Cook on a cold and calm late autumn day. Cheers!

New on 500px : Valley of Illusions by PatrickMarsonOng by PatrickMarsonOng

Sharing my first visit to New Zealand spring of 2012. First time ever to see a country with such amazing landscapes like this, hiking for a sunrise shoot at an hour and a half through hanging bridges, howling winds, luscious greens and huge snow capped mountains was my best experience ever.

Hooker valley track, one of the most popular walks in the park, it ends at the glacier lake where the most amazing view of Aoraki Mount Cook awaits!

Cheers!!

i still consider sunrise to be the best time to take photos of mt cook even if it does not get direct alpen glow from this side of her vantage points.

Nonetheless, this is the first time I took a shot from the river during sunset, was at the glacier during my first trip in 2011 and in between 3 trips was always hunting for sunrise light.

Still quite stunning too see, this one taken after I had plunged 500 dollars worth of filters into the river, had to fish them out from the cold glacial water.
