New on 500px : Manteo Light by Andrew_v by Andrew_v

This was taken just before sunrise during a recent trip to the Outerbanks. This is the Manteo Lighthouse. It’s an awesome little lighthouse that sits on Shallowbag bay which is on the interior side of the Outer Banks closest to Nags Head. I actually managed to create this shot in between some light rain and as you can see from the sky, another storm was lined up to move in really soon.

I was actually in the OBX for a landscape photography workshop which was coming ot a close on this morning. I love the balance, and depth of this image and also the serenity and storm. There’s just a very interesting mix of elements going on. Technically, this is a 65 second long exposure taken using a 10-stop B+W nd filter with my D800 and a Nikon 24-70. Hope you enjoy! Looking forward to posting more from this trip soon.

New on 500px : Stormy Na Pali by silentgphotography by silentgphotography

Another shot of Na Pali Coast taken from ol’ Captain Andy’s romantic, sunset dinner cruise.

I have to say, folks on board were NOT ready for this type of weather, but when it cleared up we were in sunset, rainbow paradise.

I have so many frames of this section of Na Pali from the Pacific, so thought I’d go with some of my favorite workflow using VSCO filters.

New on 500px : Chip N Dale Castle by TheTimeTheSpace by TheTimeTheSpace

I could have easily gone for a tight shot and used Cinderella Castle as bokeh but I wanted to give the statues some context. Going wide puts them in the foreground but still gives context to the area around them, which I like. I also like the extra color I get from the red flowers to the left which I think is a nice element to the scene. Thanks for looking.
