New on 500px : Manteo Light by Andrew_v by Andrew_v

This was taken just before sunrise during a recent trip to the Outerbanks. This is the Manteo Lighthouse. It’s an awesome little lighthouse that sits on Shallowbag bay which is on the interior side of the Outer Banks closest to Nags Head. I actually managed to create this shot in between some light rain and as you can see from the sky, another storm was lined up to move in really soon.

I was actually in the OBX for a landscape photography workshop which was coming ot a close on this morning. I love the balance, and depth of this image and also the serenity and storm. There’s just a very interesting mix of elements going on. Technically, this is a 65 second long exposure taken using a 10-stop B+W nd filter with my D800 and a Nikon 24-70. Hope you enjoy!
