So my last post was a bit dark and moody; hopefully this makes up for that I’m still itching to get back here to score some clouds, but in any case this was one heck of a night and a ton of fun. This was taken this past December at Rialto Beach on the Olympic Peninsula. I got nailed by a few waves getting this shot but I really wanted to get this cool rock formation in the foreground, lots of fun!

I had never really shot the Tacoma Narrows before so I figured shooting it on the longest day of the year with amazing weather conditions might do it some justice. This was shot from the Tacoma side of the bridge through the railing of an overpass (which was a little sketchy but fun). The bridge really is an architectural marvel; especially being the fact that the first one famously collapsed during a wind storm in 1940. Any who it was a fun shoot and the photo itself encompasses some 15 separate exposures; lots of work but worth it!

Olympic National Park in WA is one of my favorite parks on the planet. I grew up visiting this area and never tire of the diverse landscape it offers, mountains, ocean, lush rainforest, Twilight. Here’s one of the many grand views this park has to soak in. Anyone shooting here this weekend?

This is my first ever attempt at a full milky way panoramic. It stretches from looking south toward Astoria, OR and the north to the most northern tip of the Long Beach Peninsula here in Washington. It’s comprised of 9 vertically stitched photos, 18mm, ISO 3200, 20 seconds, f/2.8.

This location has always held a special in my heart as my dad spent a great deal of time here as a child and kept the tradition alive with me. This photo is a special one not only because of the area it was taken in but also because I was able to shoot the stars with my dad and teach him how to photograph the milky way for his first time. We lost track of time and before we knew it, it was already 2am… It was pretty awesome!

I finally made it to one of the more iconic areas in Seattle for cityscapes and after being skunked twice by poor sunsets persistence paid off and I was able to snag this one. I’ve been changing my processing workflow up quite a bit and I’m starting to get it dialed in now after hours of hitting a brick wall. This one is comprised of 20 photos all together, 18, stacked for the LE work and two more for dynamic range.
