http://ift.tt/1fsyV3c Tim D, Tim P, Ben and I had won an amazing sunset, our tents were set up and we had settled in with some drinks to watch the lightning that was surrounding us in every direction. According to the satellite we were being flanked by intense thunderstorms yet around us things were calm and clear. It was a surreal and very cool experience. With our clear nights sky we set to work on photographing the wonderful milky-way above us. I am fairly sure that the glowing light on the horizon in this image is from the lightning on the horizon. Unfortunately I had left my 14-24 f2.8 lens in Sydney so had to push my camera a little harder to cooperate with my f4 max16-35 but I think it still came together. View large on black and, as always, thanks for looking.
