New on 500px : Never Ending Boardwalk – Mer Bleue Conservation Bog by tawatts by tawatts

With my camera positioned in portrait mode, I took a very narrow panoramic shot looking down the boardwalk. The tripod was set very low to capture the strong detail and grain in the wood of the boardwalk. I was shooting these photos during the rain. I wanted to capture the wood while it was wet, it brought out much nicer brown and orange tones, than would normally be visible. I knew I would need to find a way to capture this image in the spring as the colours of the cattails will soon change. I wanted to capture them while the orange tones were all similar in the lower portion of the photo. As much as it was raining out, the clouds did exhibit a very nice subtle blue hue and showed subtle depth within the clouds. I really like being able to capture contrasting/complementary colours. Blue and Orange are my favourite by the way. I thought long and hard about how I would be able to capture the boardwalk in such a way as to only see the boardwalk disappearing into the distance (vanishing point perspective), with only the similar colour of the cattails visible down low, with only the blue tones of the clouds visible above the boardwalk. I hope you enjoy it.
