As beautiful as they come. Situated in the heart of Spiti valley in the Himalayas’ is Kee monastery, which is not just a place with surreal backdrops but also the home to over 250 monks. Located at 4166m, it is over 1000 years old and has had a history of invasions. I had the opportunity to live with the monks for 8days, I distinctly remember it as one of the most pure experiences I have had.

I have driven past the little camera sign on dusty Forest Road 75 while making my way across the wilderness towards Bear Rocks at least a hundred times and never bothered to stop and explore it. Last Thursday however I found myself running really late to make it top for sunset, so I decided in a last ditch effort to catch what was surely going to be great light at this spot. And man was I surprised just how beautiful this small little area of exposed cliff is!!!

The Milky Way and millions of other stars above Mt Jefferson, Mt Jefferson Wilderness, Oregon.

This is an image from an early season backpacking trip to Jefferson Park several weeks ago with my buddy Jordan Ek. It was a completely moonless night and the stars were absolutely amazing. There was no light pollution at this location, which is an added bonus for central/western Oregon.

One of the magical sunsets we experienced in Thailand. This was taken on a small peninsula near Krabi and only accessible by boat due to the high limestone cliffs that cut it off from the mainland.

Sitting behind the lee of of our baby 4×4, Marianne and I escaped the full force of the wind on this day in the highlands of Iceland. Previously at Ljotipollur, we had been bowled over while sitting down with our tripods!. The shifting light danced across the hills so rapidly here it was amazing to watch.
