New on 500px : Living in Paradise by stefanforster by stefanforster

There are few places in the world which are so peaceful and quiet like the villages of La Gomera, a small Island in the Kanary Island achipel.

New on 500px : Talisker Bay, Isle of Skye, Scotland by melvinnicholsonphotography by melvinnicholsonphotography

Talisker Bay is quite remarkable due to its black sand. The medium sized bay flanked on both sides by steep cliffs and a 100ft waterfall very much looks like the beaches of Iceland. I found a rather large wooden section of a tree that I thought that it would make a great subject to shoot and indeed I believe that it does.

New on 500px : Into the mist by jgreen0586 by jgreen0586

A different take on the Quiraing in Skye. The weather was fairly miserable all week – if you can’t dictate the light during the day, have a play at night where you’ve got more control.

New on 500px : Quiraing by NicholasLeslie by NicholasLeslie

Perhaps one of the easiest places to shoot.. wait for a little good light, bolt yourself to the ground so as to avoid being blown over the edge, cover the lens with a hood to avoid water (rain) damage, drive down a small road at night after the shoot and spend too much time gawping at the landscape and forgetting to shoot!!!
