New on 500px : The Calm After The Storm by DaniloFaria by DaniloFaria

After an incredible World Cup in brazil, I am back! My beloved Brasil did not win, but I am here congratulating Germany for a great run!
Horseshoe Bend a few minutes after sunset. I struggled to try different compositions here, because the center classic image has been seen so many times… lucky I was to have the golden sun come through the clouds. Thanks for your feedback and visits!

New on 500px : Ancient Sandstone Canyons by MarkMetternich by MarkMetternich

An original take on an ancient canyon that makes up part of the very origin of the 277 mile long, over a mile deep, Grand Canyon. With 4 workshops coming up in the area, I am getting very excited about the awesome privilege of guiding my clients to some original SW locations either rarely or never photographed.

Processing techniques are explained in my various Photoshop Video Tutorials. Feel free to Facebook me or visit WildForLight.com

Thank you for looking. 🙂

New on 500px : Fire Peaks by Pcoskun by Pcoskun

I was finally able to get out last night and work on some new photographs. Boy am I ever glad I decided to go here! I met up with fellow nature photographer Nathaniel Smalley and headed into the four peaks area in hopes to catch some monsoon storm action. Upon arrival, I had noticed a long arm of a rainbow stretching over the superstition mountains and stopped a few times to try and get a worth while photo (light was still too harsh). This same rainbow lasted for almost an hour and of course with my luck, had disappeared as soon as I had set up my gear. I saw the clouds and how the light was breaking through and knew that a sunset was coming, and a good one it was. The sky lit up in every direction with reds, oranges, pinks and purples. While we didn’t get any lightning, the light show more than made up for it.

New on 500px : Arrakis by csillerud by csillerud

60 mph winds scraped the land and ripped red dust into the sky. My teeth were covered, my eyes, shut to slivers, screamed from the grit. After ascending the rise, a blood sun sent his minions at me, but I was sheltered by the Totem.

I think that is how Paul Atreides felt during his exile to the desert.

New on 500px : Spectrum by whuang by whuang

Ranking among my top subjects to photograph, slot canyons possess an unrivaled artistic beauty. This photo is one of favorite southwest scenes of all time. When captured at the right time, these pillared Navajo sandstone walls catch the reflected light and begin to display and ethereal glow. Sporting striations, this slot somewhat resembles Zebra slots but this has its own unique aspects of a lengthy hallway appearance lined with pillared walls. It was definitely some of the best adventure and the most fun I have enjoyed exploring one of mother nature’s finest creations.
