New on 500px : Dettifoss Waterfall by LarsKrux by LarsKrux

Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Europe.

The water flows from the Vatnajökull glacier and wide areas in Northeast Iceland to finally flow into the Atlantic Ocean.

Dettifoss is located in the Lake Mývatn area in North Iceland.

Enjoy the view on the waterfall, as well as on the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum with its spray, snow, sun illuminated rocks and the never ending June sunset at midnight

New on 500px : Skogafoss by DrewNicoll by DrewNicoll

I have recently been lucky enough to tour Iceland. on the final few days we arrived at one of Iceland’s most iconic natural marvels – Skogafoss.

At a height of 60m and 25m wide this waterfall is vast and incredibly powerful, the opportunity to hike up the 300+ stairs to the top should not be overlooked. There are also lovely cafe’s for when you return, hosting a friendly and warm welcome from the locals.

In this photo, a man with his girlfriend sprinted off towards the spray and posed for her to take a picture. I seized the opportunity to photograph him to try and give you a more striking perspective of this natural giant.

Thanks, Drew

New on 500px : Dunstanburgh Castle by hodgestk by hodgestk

Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland. Taken at sunrise on a chilly November morning. The rocks there are extremely slippery and to add to the challenge the tide was coming in. Drop anything and it’ll probably be gone for good. Oh and seawater and cameras don’t mix. One of the riskiest and most challenging shots I’ve ever taken.

New on 500px : All Hail the New Day by Smokreations by Smokreations

It’s wonderful when serendipity occurs. Many photographers will take full credit for accidental occasions. Like the color showing up in the water from reflections of the azaleas behind. Yea…I planned that. : )

New on 500px : On the Edge by JeffHobsonPhotography by JeffHobsonPhotography

How did you spend your Easter? This is how I spent mine, my friend Steven Michael invited me to come watch some big waves. I was able to capture some amazing images there, including this black and white shot of Steven. He bravely offered to go out on the ledge so we could capture a shot comparing a human to the size of these waves that day! This was a truly amazing experience and I am so glad that I had the oppertunity to meet so many talented photographers, you guys ROCK! Your images inspired me and I love to see how creative you all were that day. Have a great day everybody, thanks for looking. Happy Friday! Follow me on Facebook: http://ift.tt/1cEBY64
