The third time was definitely the charm up on Johnston Ridge as I finally caught one of the most gorgeous and longest sunsets I had ever seen and a supermoon rise as an added bonus. This was taken just after 10pm as the moon rose up over the mountain. The sunset was still lingering and light pink glow illuminated the western side of the mountain while the bright moonlight enveloped the eastern side of the blast zone. It was absolutely gorgeous and made for one heck of a memorable night. As an added bonus I ran into two local photogs Kristina Wilson and Paul Bowman; small world!!

This is an image from an early season backpacking trip to Jefferson Park several weeks ago with my buddy Jordan Ek. It was a completely moonless night and the stars were absolutely amazing. There was no light pollution at this location, which is an added bonus for central/western Oregon.
Thanks for taking a look and for any comments you have. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to share their thoughts on the image.
