Popeye village

Popeye village, als known as Sweethaven village is a group of rustic wooden buildings located in Anchor bay, in the nothwest of Malta, near Mellieha.
It was built as a film set for the movie Popeye from 1980. Today it is an open air museum and entertainment complex.
There are still many items and props left which were used in the movie. Anyway, we really had a great day here and we can recommend this place for eveyone who visits Malta!

Just outside mellieha in Matla, we find a bay called Anchor bay. And so here starts a new part of our uploads from our holiday to Malta , a long part. On the right you can see a part of Sweethaven, maybe it rings a bell? If not, it soon will.
