Lupinus polyphyllus are one of the most spectacular flowers that we may encounter in summertime all over the Alps. I have portrayed them in Engadine (Switzerland), on the shore of the Lake of Sils (St.Moritz). It was during a sudden change of weather, i decided to use a long exposure with a ND1000 filter, so there is in the shot a spimilar HDR effect.

During the day we can experience some activities on the snow and during the night is very probably to admire the unique phenomena of the Aurora Borealis… remember we are here in the “Oval” !

There is something in the Arctic lands that I cant unfortunately explain.
Normally with a picture i can freeze a moment forever, but its impossible for me to describe a situation that persists and moves to infinity.
I cannot explain the bitter cold of the arctic night painted in shades of green and red, impossible to tell how the dark night stretches out over the long twilight. Finally, how can I show you a blue hour that slowly reclines on his way to meet the endless dawn? Please, try it one time in your life.

Taking photo to a lake during thaw is a very difficult and dangerous job. Everyday the conditions on his surface changes, normally everything finish within a week, the lake will be completely free of any sign of snow the kept him suffocated during the winter season. The most insidious thing is the risk of going inside for a dive, a very cold dive. I tried it several times and I can say that it is better to stay inside for no more than thirty seconds. Have fun.
