This image is a bit odd for me as many know that I typically don’t include man-made objects in my photos. But this scene of the church in Vik surrounded by an amazing lupine field was too good to pass up. Taken sometime around 2 a.m., we lucked out with zero wind and perfect conditions to shoot the wildflowers.

It’s not only the crashed airplane itself but the place where it is, with nothing but volcanic sand around. Another thing it made it more interesting is that we thought being in the wrong way as it saw not visible until you are really close to it.

Uno de las experiencias más interesantes en Islandia fue visitar este avión accidentado en 1973 (sin víctimas). Me suena raro decir eso habiendo tantas cosas por hacer y por ver en Islandia, y todas ellas alucinantes 🙂
No era sólo el avión en sí, sino el lugar en que se encontraba, únicamente rodeado de arena negra volcánica hasta donde alcanza la vista. Algo que hizo muy interesante la visita es la sensación de no estar en el camino correcto ya que el avión no era visible hasta estar a escasos metros del mismo.
