New on 500px : Palouse Mood by eyeofalens by eyeofalens

Please pop Palouse Mood on Black

Another take on a Palouse Mood shot taken on my recent trip to
Oregon & Washington State .
These falls are rather surreal being that they are in the middle of nowhere.
I have intentionally made the clouds moodier by adding the extra color to the clouds

New on 500px : Dark Divide by MichaelBollino by MichaelBollino

Between Mount Adams and Mount Saint Helens lies the Dark Divide, an area of dense forest and high ridges full of incredible creeks and waterfalls. The Dark Divide is the epicenter for mythology surrounding Big Foot. I couldn’t help feeling as though I had company while exploring this rarely shot area.

New on 500px : Partly Sunny by DustinGent by DustinGent

Taken a few weeks ago, same trip as my last MSH shot – just a bit earlier. I over sharpened this one on accident/purpose – the thumbnail on 500px looked bad.. oh well 🙂

New on 500px : Mt St Helens Twilight Cavern by kevinmcneal by kevinmcneal

I have visited Mt St Helens every year since I began photography and it never fails to disappoint. I was always am impressed with the variety of color you can find on this mountain in terms of wildflowers. This was in a valley i took while exploring this mountain near Johnson Ridge..
Thanks for looking – much appreciated !

Best if viewed on black, so please click on the image.

This past weekend I decided to explore some lesser known waterfalls with my boyfriend Ryan and friend Chris Williams. With a bit of research and luck, I was able to track this one down and it stands out now as a personal favorite of mine as the area is incredibly lush and pristine.

Rialto Beach, Olympic National Park

I first saw these two giant sea stacks from Marc Adamus’s absolutely powerful and dramatic photo “Fire Light“. But when I reached Rialto Beach, I barely recognized these two until walking along the coast for over 1 mile towards north.

What disappointed me were the footprints all over the place surrounding the two towers, and sadly there was almost no cloud on the sky. The tide level was still pretty low when the sun started to set. I took a couple of photos with sun stars, but really hated the endless footprints on the foreground, and decided to wait. About an hour after sunset, the tide finally raised, and ocean waves removed all footprints. The two towers started to reveal its real beauty to us.

I was so dedicated to capturing the perfect moment of ocean waves before I realized the tide almost blocked the way back to the tail head. To get back, we ended up experiencing an “exciting” trip between waves.

New on 500px : Mt St Helens Sunrise by kevinmcneal by kevinmcneal

This was taken a few years ago from the Johnson Ridge area on Mt St Helens. At the time there was some surrounding wildfires which really helped with the atmospheric conditions that morning. I am looking forward to getting up there again this year as spring has it very early this year up there.
Thanks for looking !

New on 500px : Steptoe Butte by loweedmundphotog by loweedmundphotog

Steptoe Butte in eastern Washington state is a landscape photographers paradise. A 360 degree view allows for an unlimited choice of subjects even though the place was lousy with shutterbugs.
