New on 500px : Supermoon Rebirth by cwexplorationphotography by cwexplorationphotography

++view on black++

The third time was definitely the charm up on Johnston Ridge as I finally caught one of the most gorgeous and longest sunsets I had ever seen and a supermoon rise as an added bonus. This was taken just after 10pm as the moon rose up over the mountain. The sunset was still lingering and light pink glow illuminated the western side of the mountain while the bright moonlight enveloped the eastern side of the blast zone. It was absolutely gorgeous and made for one heck of a memorable night. As an added bonus I ran into two local photogs Kristina Wilson and Paul Bowman; small world!!

New on 500px : Midnight Rider by KristinaWilson by KristinaWilson

I took a quick last minute drive out to St. Helen’s the other night and ended staying up well past my bed time. Started driving home and then turned around and went back to wait around for sunrise. I kept my imagination in check, even though my brother recently called me up from Sweden non stop talking about missing people and how I need to be more careful. This is bigfoot country after all. 馃槈

Falls Creek Falls 路 Falls Creek 路 Gifford Pinchot National Forest 路 Carson 路 Washington 路 USA

A rare view of the always awe-inspiring Falls Creek Falls from its egress through Volkswagen-sized boulders and snarls of downed trees downstream. My brotog TJ Thorne锘 unwittingly provides some sense of scale here, standing smack-dab in the middle of the spray zone fronting the 60-foot-tall lowest of three tiers. He’s not just a fellow photographer–one of the hardest-working dudes I know–but a true friend, and our views on life are more often similar than not. I’m pretty sure I speak for both of us when I say that being out in nature, free from the confines of human constructs physical, political, and philosophical and well away from the business of bean-counting and bureaucratizing, is more than just a pastime for us: It’s a soul-fueling necessity. Here, the office walls are draped with lichen and mosses and ferns, the ceiling is limitless, and deadlines, discord, and derisiveness dissolve away in spring-fed streams.

New on 500px : A Blanketing Tide by TrevorAnderson by TrevorAnderson

This is another image from the reprocess bin; it was a composition collected last year at Rialto Beach that was in dire need of some TLC. Thanks for looking!

New on 500px : The Amazing Hoh by AmanAnuraj by AmanAnuraj

One of my favorite places in the world is the Hoh Rainforest. This is from hiking inside there earlier this year. Just love the place so much. These trees are huge, I didn’t have a person to demonstrate the scale; these things must be like 300 feet probably.

New on 500px : Penn Cove by Christina_Angquico by Christina_Angquico

Went to visit the family over 4th of July and had a wonderful time. Penn Cove is situated between Rolling Hills and Coupeville on Whidbey Island and I drove by this scene daily commuting to Everett . I always looked but never got out to scout. I think Whidbey Island is a gorgeous place but I never could get it to transfer well through an image. Underneath the bed of seaweed were mussels and oysters . Salmon and some otter were swimming through the bay and it made me miss my old home
