Sunset light hits the impressive 1500 metres tall peaks in “Litjdalen” (translated into english “Little Valley”) in Sunndal. Had to take multiple exposures the get enough DOF as the flowers are very close to the lens.

I will forever return to my favorite park in the NPS system, something about these mountains that rise above sage brush plains that keep calling me back. This year my focus was timing the arrowleaf balsamroot bloom in the flats of the valley. I timed it ok… 😉 This year’s bloom didn’t disappoint, even if I didn’t get the spectacular pink sunrise I’d envisioned in my mind.

Back from Iceland! We had a fantastic time in the land of never ending summer light and came away with some great images. The conditions were often tough though, as the clouds only cooperated on a couple nights and we usually found ourselves socked in stratus, fog, or rain. Regardless, Iceland is an incredible country and a landscape photographer’s dream.

This image is a bit odd for me as many know that I typically don’t include man-made objects in my photos. But this scene of the church in Vik surrounded by an amazing lupine field was too good to pass up. Taken sometime around 2 a.m., we lucked out with zero wind and perfect conditions to shoot the wildflowers.

Mount Baker, some blooms of Heather, and a sunset. Nothing ground breaking here… But a fun evening shooting in the mountains with my girlfriend.

Color of spring, Columbia River George, Oregon.
It was just before sunrise in Rowena Crest Viewpoint, OR during wildflowers season last month. The hill was covered with colorful balsamroot and lupine bushes. I am glad that I was there that morning enjoying fantastic sunrise scene.

Spring has definitely exploded in the eastern Columbia River Gorge and this year is shaping up to be the best in the last four. Balsamroot and lupine pretty have pretty much synchronized their bloom schedule. This was shot last weekend in the Dalles Mountain Ranch– standard comp with some pretty light over top. I hope to make it out there a handful of times in the coming weeks. Just need to have this wet spell move past! Great to meet up with a bunch of great photographers out there Looks much better on my website
