New on 500px : Sunset at Grand View Point by christianrogers99 by christianrogers99

I traveled to Canyonlands to shoot False Kiva under the Milky Way but it turned out to be too cloudy. I guess Mother Nature had better plans that day. This shot was taken at Grand View Point on the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands.

New on 500px : Zion Canyon by leland2 by leland2

Utah, southern, Dramatic panoramic of Zion Canyon in Zion National Park. Capturing the grandeur of a large landscape scene can be one of the most difficult challenges. Far to often the magnificence is lost when rendered on a small two dimensional plane. A lifetime is spent in search of ideal conditions along with beautiful light that might, among other things, create the illusion of a three dimensional space. This clearing storm in Zion National Park of southern Utah was just such an opportunity. I refer to it sometimes as the attempt to do a landscape justice. When the conditions are right, everything has to be done correctly in what can be a very short period of time. Over the decades I’ve missed far more opportunities than I’ve been successful at. It’s the nature of the game and the learning process.

New on 500px : THE WATCHMAN IN THE STORM II by sean_ensch_images by sean_ensch_images

The iconic Watchmen peak at the southern entrance of Zion National Park. I spent almost two weeks around Zion with nothing but clear, blue skies. While that made it great to hike in, it made very boring photos. Then finally, on the last day there it rained heavily all day long. I thought it wouldn’t stop and the clouds would just be stuck and never leave the canyon, then just before sunset they passed through to the south and created some beautiful lighting just in time for me to get this photo.

New on 500px : Kanarra grotto by crystallynn by crystallynn

The first time I saw a picture of Kanarra Creek, I dreamt of coming to this enchanted place. What did the water sound like as it flowed through the canyon, what lies beyond the ladder? I am so fortunate to have found someone that shares the same wanderlust, love for travel, nature, and photography. Our trip to Utah was the most amazing vacation, and I cannot wait for the next one. Today is our one year anniversary, so I’m dedicating this photo to my wonderful boyfriend and travel companion, who has also taught me so much about photography, Danilo Faria 🙂

New on 500px : Zion Hike by myspacetom by myspacetom

Out for a hike in the truly spectacular Zion National Park — a smaller park, but one of my favorites. I don’t often have people in my photos, but I think this is the only photo I was happy with from that hike. 🙂

A little winter trek through the narrows with partners in crime David Thompson Vinny Pickens and Bill Ratcliffe. It was a fun and chilling adventure. There was a lot of sfn being thrown around that afternoon, I can’t lie. Thanks for the warm welcome back from my two followers. Don’t be shy, you know who you are!

New on 500px : All in All You’re Just Another Brick in the Wall by DaniloFaria by DaniloFaria

“The Narrows” hike at Zion. It’s definitely a very beautiful site to see, early morning light glows in the massive canyon walls while the clear and cold waters of the Virgin River continues the erosion process. Thank you all for your support, I appreciate it very much!
